Engagement

So here's how it went down:

My family had been planning to take William my 1 year old nephew to the zoo the day after thanksgiving, it was my mom and dad, my sister her husband, william and then her husbands parents, brother and family friend. I had Clay, the 6 year old boy I babysit with me. We all headed down to the zoo and made our way over to the pacific northwest, which Jim ever so cleaverly stated, "arent we already there." So we saw the bald eagle and Salmon, ect. Then it was around 12-12:30 and I was getting hungry, so everyones like lets go to the penguins and then go eat, so I was like SWEET! So we head over to the penguins, but for some reason the penguins are always hard to find, so we couldnt find them and while we were walking around trying to find them I see Nathans parents! I was like "Hey what are you guys doing here?!" and they told me it was Todd's birthday which it was. SO I was like cool you should come see the penguins with us, and they said ok!" So we go into the penguins and I'm taking pictures then this lady walks up to me, and says "Hi I'm Lori from guest services (or something like that) and Nathan's really sorry he couldnt be here today (he told me he had to work) but he wanted to let you know he set up a behind the scenes tour of the penguins for you and your guests." I was like are you serious!? ( I love the penguins and we had 13 people with us!) So then I see my friend Krisitn holding the video camera and I knew something fishy was up because she was suppose to be drivinng home to Walla Walla that day. So I get super suspicous and then she hands me a card that Nathan had written 6 years ago, which was pretty much a proposal, but it wasnt that right time 6 years ago to give it to me, so he held onto it. So I get the card and start shaking because at this point i know whats going on....

So I read the card, and Clay the kid I baby sit was all dont read that lets go see the Tigers, completely oblvivious to what was going on. So Nathans mom had to take him away haha. So i sit down to read the card because I'm shaiking so hard, and I guess while I'm sitting down nathan had snuck in right behind me and was holding out the ring; but I didnt know that. So when I was done reading the card I was scanning the room for him and I turned around and there he was!!!! So I jumped into his arms and said yes!!!!! (later we talked about how he had never even asked I said yes to fast, so that night he asked me again for real and I said yes haha.) So it was super amazing to have all my family there!!

Then we got to go back and see the penguins. They let one penguin in with us and his name was MOCHIKA. He thought he was a human and was the only real nice penguin, #6 if you ever see him swimming give him a shout out for me! lol. So we get to pet him and feed him fish, and some of the other penguins fish as well. It was truly the most amazing day of my life!

I'm so excited to start this new chapter in our lives. Nathan and I have been waiting so long for this, and i cant  blieve its here and we can start planning this wedding!!! Nathan is obvisouly more excited for that night. :-)

easy way to help the troops

WHO:  America Supports You is a Department of Defense program that recognizes citizens' support for our military and their families, at home and abroad, and connects individuals and organizations who wish to directly support the troops and their families. ASY is launching a text messaging program called “Giving Thanks”.

WHAT: Giving Thanks is an interactive America Supports You program taking place during the Thanksgiving holiday to offer citizens an opportunity to say thank you to the men and women who serve this nation. Major mobile wireless providers, including AT&T, Verizon, Sprint Nextel, and T-Mobile, provide access to the America Supports You Text Message program.

WHEN:  People can text a message of thanks to 8-9-2-7-9, beginning at 6am EST on Saturday, November 17, and ending at midnight, PDT on November 22, Thanksgiving Day.

WHY:  The goal is for people to take a moment during the Thanksgiving holiday to think about those who are serving this nation, and act in a way that demonstrates they appreciate their sacrifices. Giving Thanks offers a unifying moment for the nation, during a time in which families traditionally come together and express gratitude for things large and small that contribute to their lives. The United States currently has brave military men and women serving in 177 countries. These troops and their families will be informed about how many people have texted in their thanks and will get to see many of the messages, reminding them that people back home do care.

HOW:  On Thanksgiving Day America Supports You will tabulate the number of messages sent to the troops.  The volume of text messages will serve as a reminder to our military that the folks back home are grateful for their service

This is a very worthy cause - hope you will do it AND pass it on.

When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this
address.  If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many
cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so
 much would get.

Feeling a little spacey

There is so much going on right now, school really has taken a back seat.
Savannas mom passed away last Saturday while she had her baby shower. I feel so heartbroken for her. I cant even begin to imagine what she feels. Least she has a great guy who loves and supports her. Yea, Jason!

On our way over to her babyshower we took my car, and somewhere past goverment camp about 10-15 miles, I see my car has overheated completely. Yippeee... so I ask nathan  "WHAT DO I DO?!" and hes all .... pullll ovvveerrrrr so anyways we pull over the car is steaming like crazy, you can hear water boiling and now were stuck in the woods somewhere and its pitch black. Oh and guess who forgot to put a flashlight in the emergency pack? So we called AAA and they came out about an hour later, towed us back to clackamas where we picked up nathans car and made it into redmond about 1:30 am. What should have been 1 3 hour trip turned into 7 hours.
Well least it was only my thermostat. So its fixed and it wasnt to spendy.

Nathans car and his life stresses me out, yet he seems clam and not worried at all. I dont get the male brain. 1st off his new car is messed up. He smelt mold and searched for it and found his front left side of the car covered in water, and the back passenger seat as well. Mold was all over the place and he found that the AC water tube thing was pulled out of where it needed to be so it had been dripping water for who knows how long. So he called the toyota dealership and they first ask him where he got his oil changed... so he says midas, (which never go to midas) so they say that a lot of the times if the water from the ac drips on them they will detach it then re-attach it when they are done. So he drives down to midas and explain the whole thing and finds out who changed the oil in his car and finds out that guy had been fired just recently because he sucked at his job. Anyways Midas denies anything of course so he talks to the owner who also denies anything. Anyways Extremely long story short hes taking his car into see if its something faulty with the car and if its not I guess him and Midas will be going to court.
Speaking of court, nathan has court on his mind i guess haha. No, but were getting to the nitty gritty of his car accident from last year. The drunk driver who hit him and all the chaos that goes along with that because the guy comminited suicide. So the insurence wants to settle but of course for some low amount and hes been talking to lawyers and they all say well of course, Take it to court, but then we got  a ball park of how much they might offer and it was sad, so nathans talking to lawyers and trying to get that whole shindig going.
